Littmann Stethoscope Cardiology IV Raspberry Review
Being a medical student I have always dreamt of having the Littmann Stethoscope, but I had never got a chance to try out the Cardiology IV, Raspberry Stethoscope. This particular stethoscope is especially designed for cardiologists to use on people’s chest hence it has a very sensitive diaphragm to collect even the faintest beats of the heart.
It comes in many different colors for you to pick one that suits your style best. Mine is raspberry because it totally goes with my personality.
Before I unbox the stethoscope, let’s see how it is packed. It is enclosed in a beautiful box made out of thick cardboard, not just adding beauty to its shelf life but also a graceful look when you have it in your hands. The stethoscope comes in a carrying case, an instructions manual and a few more small pieces that we will take a look at in a while. The sleek boxed packaging is so attractive that you really don’t want to miss out on this one. The stethoscope is packed very carefully to make sure no damage occurs to it.

The case looks really nice and it is much more improved than the one which came with my previous stethoscope but my only issue is that I had to pay an extra £40 for this case while the stethoscope itself is for £228, so ideally the case should have been free but since it is not, this is my only complaint.
The instructions manual is very precise.
It has a pictorial representation of how to use the stethoscope along with its cleaning methods. It also shows you where, which part of the stethoscope is, so if you’re just starting to use this instrument, these instructions will make it very easy to use.
The Cardiology IV Raspberry Stethoscope is not just decent in look but also has a very sturdy feel in the hands. It is made up of stainless steel so you don’t have to worry about it rusting or wearing out over a longer period of time as some cheaper plastic models do. It is pretty comfortable so it won’t strain your neck as you’re using it. The texture of this stethoscope is amazing- it’s got a soft rubber coating that feels great against your skin so even if you’re wearing gloves like me mostly, it won’t be uncomfortable. The ear tips are also very soft and comfortable so they don’t hurt the ears at all.
Now I will see how good this works. I will test this on my 60 year old grandfather and listen to his heartbeat. He is very old so he has faint heart sounds at times, let’s see if the stethoscope can catch them. I put the ear tips in my ears and the chest piece on his chest. I can hear his heart beat loud and clear. I can even hear some slightly faint sounds in between which is due to his weak heart at this age. My grandfather has a history of angina so dull sounds are normal when it comes to heart at this age.
In conclusion I think that this stethoscope works brilliantly!
I highly recommend this stethoscope to cardiologists who need a sensitive enough stethoscope to hear all heart sounds properly and clearly to interpret them accurately.

In comparison to the stethoscope that I got from ERKA, this one is more durable, comfortable and easy to carry around. It also has a warranty for 3 years during which if something damaging happens to it, the company will replace it with a new one for free. This is one thing that most other companies don’t do.
Unlike the ones that I previously bought, this one has a smoother surface, its good flexibility makes it easier to put on.
